


On the more complex side of the modding coin, another classic remake has come along, this time faithfully recreating The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. Link’s Awakening was first released for the original Game Boy and has also since been revamped and rereleased on the Nintendo Switch. As a fan favorite installment in the Zelda franchise for decades, its debut in the world of Minecraft modding seems to have been inevitable. The instantly familiar Minecraft map has been in the works for two years now and includes all locations, enemies and bosses from the original Nintendo classic. Screenshots of the mod posted to the Zelda sub reddit by Pickledscones show non playable characters in their proper environments like Mabe Village, enemies lurking in their dungeons, Octoroks on the beach of Toronbo Shores, as well as the famous Wind Fish’s Egg atop Mt. Longtime players of Minecraft will know how time consuming it can be to simply build a nice looking house in the game, let alone the multitude of houses, temples, and other locations of Link’s Awakening. However, with two years of work behind them, it looks like Pickledscones and Thelasteddieonearth are nearing the finish line on their mod. Every enemy can be hit and every boss can be beat.
